MAHOGANY: The Mystery Glider
by Jill Morris
The Mahogany Glider Petaurus gracilis is a rare species of glider (a sort of possum with a gliding membrane which allows it to glide from tree to tree). The Mahogany Glider is larger than most of the Australian gliders. The habitat of this glider (a 130 kilometre strip in north Queensland) is being continually destroyed, putting the small population in peril.
Information complemented by watercolour paintings on coffee-stained pages – all about the endangered Mahogany Glider which was missing for 106 years before being rediscovered in a swamp of North Queensland.
Suitable for 6-12 years old
